Since 1976, the three letters ‘GTI’ have stood for the benchmark of sportiness in the compact class. VW is well aware of its position and, with every new generation of its successful Golf, also launches the sporty GTI. With the sixth generation, released in 2009, the characteristic red trim stripes in the radiator grille were reintroduced as a distinguishing feature.
Painted in classic red, the Norev looks impressive in any display cabinet. The characteristic 5-spoke alloy wheels, the classic chequered pattern on the seats and the black trim on the side skirts are, of course, all present, whilst the powerful engine of the original can be seen under the bonnet.
