The MGA, unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1955, differed fundamentally from its T-series predecessors. A chassis with wider-spaced side members allowed for a significantly lower seating position, whilst more modern engines delivered impressive performance. The MGA was exceptionally successful, particularly in export markets – more than 90 per cent of production was sold outside the UK.
