Unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1955, the MGA marked a fundamental departure from its T-Series predecessors. A chassis with wider-spaced side members provided, among other advantages, a lower seating position, while more modern engines delivered impressive performance. The MGA proved exceptionally successful, particularly in export markets, with more than 90 per cent of production sold outside the UK.
