When the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL was unveiled in New York in 1954, it sparked a veritable storm of enthusiasm. Visitors and journalists alike were impressed by the breathtaking combination of high-quality engineering and aggressive styling. The striking gull-wing doors, made possible by the tubular frame chassis, turned the ‘SL’ into the dream car of an entire generation overnight.
For our model of the 300 SL, we have opted for the classic silver. Many of the 1,400 300 SL Coupés built were delivered in this colour. Paired with a beige interior, it makes for a very successful combination – in both 1:1 and 1:18 scale.
