The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was launched in 1993 as a homologation model for the World Rally Championship. Underneath its striking bodywork with a large rear wing was a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with around 220 hp and permanent all-wheel drive. Technically, it was based on the Sierra RS Cosworth, combined with the Escort body. It sprinted from 0 to 100 km/h in around 6 seconds and reached a top speed of over 230 km/h.
