In 1971, the Citroën GS was elected European Car of the Year. To celebrate this prestigious and much coveted title and to be able to promulgate the international image of the GS, Citroën made several cars in sedan & station wagon with a decoration out of standard on the basis of European flags (12 countries at that time).

Several versions of this "car without borders" were produced, distinguished in particular by the configuration of the flags on the passenger side, the color of the upholstery and the rims.
