After making the MG Metro shine on French rallies in 1986, Didier Auriol was recruited by Ford to drive the brand new Sierra Cosworth. It was a successful mission for the former ambulance driver, who won his second consecutive French Rally Championship title! That same year, he finished 8th in the Tour of Corsica, just three seconds behind a young Spanish hopeful named Carlos Sainz, who was also driving a Sierra Cosworth!
