VW revisited the successful concept of the Karmann-Ghia, which had been launched in 1955 on the VW 1200 Beetle platform, with the introduction of the mid-range saloon, the VW 1500, in 1961. Once again, the Italian design studio Ghia was commissioned to create the exterior design, and the result was an elegant coupé with a light-flooded body and a striking, horizontal division of the bodywork.
For the first time, a 1:18 scale model of the Karmann-Ghia 1500 with opening bonnet and doors is available. The interior recreates the luxury of the original in miniature, with numerous details and their meticulous decoration waiting to be discovered. This elaborate Norev model impressively captures the charm of the 1960s.
