Contrary to the automotive trend towards front-wheel drive in the compact class of the late 1960s, Opel continued to rely on the tried-and-tested rear-wheel drive for the third generation of the Kadett. The coupé is generally regarded as the most visually appealing of the five body variants; in the ‘Rallye’ special edition, for example, it was capable of delivering up to 110PS.
Orange is traditionally one of the typical colours of the 1970s in motoring, and Opel offered several shades of it. The brilliant ochre of our Kadett is one of the more subdued shades and harmonises beautifully with the model’s black trim and black bodywork components.
