To mark its 90th anniversary and the launch of the ‘Big Car Show’, Solido has unveiled a daring project orchestrated by Frédérick Guillier, his team and partners: to create a 1/1 scale car from scratch! This is a first for the Breton miniature car manufacturer, which is used to reducing real cars to scale models.

Like the big names in car preparation (RWB, Brabus, Prior Design...), Solido started from an existing model. A Porsche 911 SC, found in a barn in poor condition, was chosen as the basis for this unique project. Together with its partners, the Solido team then set about designing and assembling this extraordinary vehicle.

For the design, the company called on Khyzyl Saleem. Khyzyl Saleem is a famous British car designer, known for his creations in Need For Speed and on social networks. Local companies, including Flat56, a Porsche specialist, also contributed their expertise to enable the project to be completed to a very tight deadline.

The KS-R took seven months to complete, with a strict timetable imposed by the dates of the Big Car Show. The teams rose to the challenge brilliantly, sometimes working late into the night to meet the deadlines and cope with last-minute changes. Just imagine, the final touches were made the day before the event, on the stand!
