When the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL, the R107 series, was launched in 1971, no one could have guessed that it would remain the Stuttgart-based car manufacturer's flagship model for 18 long years. Friedrich Geiger's design established the visual appearance of Mercedes-Benz in the 1970s and was continued in the W116 S-Class (1972) and the W123 mid-range model (1976).

From 1975 to 1979, the colour Cayenne Orange (DB406) was available to order in the official SL series range. Combined with a brown interior, our model is a typical representative of the colourful 1970s.
