Lancée en 1972, la série baptisée en interne W116 représentait le summum de la construction automobile. Aucun modèle concurrent ne réunissait autant d'atouts que la Classe S des années 1970. Outre ses caractéristiques techniques, la grande Mercedes séduisait également par sa carrosserie à la fois élégante et sportive.

La 350 SEL était l'une des motorisations les plus demandées de la série Mercedes. Le bleu Hansa (code 940) faisait partie des couleurs discrètes de l'époque et, associé à l'intérieur noir, le modèle original de notre maquette devait rester plutôt discret.

The car is very beautiful and very detailed, but it has two serious flaws, which in my opinion are quite gross:
1. The passenger door doesn't close properly and stays open by 3 millimeters, which is very unsightly. I tried to fix it, but it was either assembled poorly or the hinge is crooked, so it always stays open a little.
2. Two of the four wheels turn crookedly; the wheels are crooked, not the hubs.
It's a shame because the model is very beautiful and would have been fantastic without these flaws. I doubt I'll buy another Norev model.
