Tiger 131 restored and operated by The Tank Museum Bovington
By the end of his first tour of duty in April 1944, pilot John Robert Baldwin had racked up at least 13 air victories, having flown an incredible number of missions in support of operations prior to D-Day in his trusty Hawker Typhoon. He returned to operational flying after a short break, having been promoted to Wing Commander of RAF No. 146 Wing, again flying Typhoons and embarking on another gruelling programme of air operations, this time in support of Allied ground advances across France and missions against V-1 Doodlebug sites.
