Subaru Impreza (N°5) Sainz Winner Monte-Carlo 1995 1:18
The Impreza is a compact car from Japanese carmaker Subaru, launched in 1992. An icon of the brand thanks to its success in the World Rally Championship (three drivers‘ titles and three manufacturers’ titles), it has been in its fifth generation since 2016.
With a 2-litre engine and 211 bhp (94/97) and 217 bhp (98/00) for the first-generation European version under the GT name, the first Imprezas, which would become the WRX, could boast up to 320 bhp in their STI version.
Since 2015, the Subaru WRX has become a model independent of the Impreza and is undergoing its own development. As a result, the Impreza name is gradually disappearing from sports car references, to be replaced by the WRX and, to a lesser extent, the Subaru BRZ.
