Alpine A110 1973 Tour de Corse (N°5) 1:18
With 19 cars starting the race, the Alpine A110s made up the bulk of the field. The factory prepared six Group 4 berlinettes (1800 cm3, 175 bhp, 710 kg7), four official cars entrusted to Jean-Pierre Nicolas, Jean-Luc Thérier, Bernard Darniche and Jean-François Piot and two semi-official cars for islanders Francis Serpaggi and Jean-Pierre Manzagol.
Darniche's car has a modified rear suspension, similar to that of the Alpine A3101, and a fuel-injected engine2. Thirteen other Alpines (groups 3 or 4) were entered privately. Winners in 1968, 1970 and 1972, the French manufacturer was the clear favourite for the event.
