Austin Healey Sprite Mk-1 Cherry Red 1:18
The Austin-Healey Sprite was a British two-seater roadster designed by racing driver and engineer Donald Healey, and produced by the Austin subsidiary of the British Motor Corporation. Intended to be sold at low prices, it was powered by the engine of the popular Austin A35 and Morris Minor, improved by the use of two SU carburettors.
The first version, called the Sprite Mk 1 ‘Frogeye’, was produced in 48,987 examples between 1958 and 1961; it was followed by the Mk 2, Mk 3 and Mk 4 versions, which were identical to the MG Midget Mk 1, Mk 2 and Mk 3; the car having been designed jointly by engineers from MG and Austin-Healey, both subsidiaries of the British Motor Corporation.
